Financial Aid, Tuition & Fees
- All graduate student scholarship packages are granted at the time of the admission.
- Students arenāt required to submit an application for it.
- All Basic Degree student scholarship packages are automatically granted when the students meet the required full-time registration status.

- In-Course awards will have application requirements posted in the award posting.

- Special grants (Emergency grants) are given on a case-by-case basis.

This policy applies to all student awards established in the Faculty of Theology, University of St. Michaelās College. Its purpose is to ensure that the procedures followed in establishing such awards and in determining who will receive them are clear and consistent.
- āFinancial Aidā is a generic term used to indicate an item of financial or other value presented to a student based on academic achievement or financial need.
- āScholarshipā is a financial award given on the basis of academic achievement.
- āBursary or Grantā is a financial award given to students on the basis of demonstrated financial need.
- āIn-Course Awardā is a term used for awards that are open for all students in an academic year in a form of competition.
- The purpose of the Faculty of Theology Financial Aid program is to attract, recognize and reward academic achievement, and to ensure accessibility for students registered in University of St. Michaelās College.
- The terms and conditions of all awards must comply with the Ontario Human Rights Code and must be free of criteria based on personal characteristics such as race, ancestry, colour, ethnic origin, sex, creed, age, marital status, family status, sexual orientation or disability.
- The policies and procedures of the Faculty of Theology Financial Aid program are developed and approved by the Faculty of Theology Financial Aid Committee.
- Except where otherwise stated in the terms of an award, recipients must be registered at Faculty of Theology, University of St. Michaelās College.
- The awarding body is Faculty Council of Faculty of Theology which empowers the Student Financial Aid Committee to make decisions concerning awards based on clear guidelines.
- To avoid conflict of interest, donors are not permitted to participate in the selection of recipients for awards for which they are the donor.
- All scholarship recipients MUST be in good standing (CGPA 2.70+ (Faculty of Theology, USMC) to receive an award.
We have the following graduate students scholarship packages available. All graduate student scholarship packages are granted at the time of the admission. Students arenāt required to submit an application for it.
Domestic Students:
$15,000 per year for 4 years ($60,000 over 4 years)
International Students:
$20,000 per year for 4 years ($80,000 over 4 years)
Domestic Students:
$15,000 for 1st year of study
International Students:
$20,000 for 1st year of study
Domestic Students:
Tuition remission for course work and thesis for full-time students
There are two Basic Degree student scholarship packages available. All Basic Degree student scholarship packages are automatically granted when the students meet the required full-time registration status. Students arenāt required to submit an application.
Master of Theological Studies (MTS)
Full-Time students will receive funding for 80% of the program requirements that are completed at University of St. Michaelās College (16/20 courses covered by Scholarship).
Master of Divinity (MDiv)
Full-Time students will receive funding for 80% of the program requirements that are completed at University of St. Michaelās College (24/30 courses covered by Scholarship).
Students at all levels of study who take at least three courses per semester are eligible for loans and grants through Ontario Students Awards Program (OSAP) if they satisfy the citizenship or residence requirements. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada who have at least one years prior residence in Ontario. Those holding student visas are not eligible.
Qualified students in the ThM and ThD programs are also eligible to apply for Ontario Graduate Scholarships. You will find links on the OSAP website given above.
Advanced Degree students are encouraged to apply for the funding awarded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). These awards are open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada. For further information, consult the SSHRC (Ottawa) website or the Director of Advanced Degree Studies at St Michaelās.
